The Caretaker Federal Government of Pakistan has opted to prohibit the import of wheat, as per sources reported by a private news channel.

The decision, taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), is grounded in the stability of flour prices in Pakistan and the country's sufficient reserves of wheat, according to government insiders. The Ministry of National Food Security briefed the ECC on the current wheat supply, and the committee commended the ministry's actions. In a separate development, the ECC approved a Technical Supplementary Grant of 7.15 billion rupees for Federal Education and Professional Training.

Additional approvals included grants for the 7th Population and Housing Census, rehabilitation of flood-damaged rural roads in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, provision of clean drinking water in Lahore through a Japanese Grant, and a Sustainable Plan for Price Rationalization of Subsidized Wheat in Gilgit-Baltistan. The ECC also sanctioned funds for server procurement and consultant hiring and allocated a Technical Supplementary Grant of 500 million rupees for the Ministry of Aviation.
