In a welcome move for consumers, the caretaker federal government has announced a reduction in petrol and diesel prices across Pakistan.
The new prices, which came into effect on Wednesday, represent a significant decrease compared to previous rates.
Petrol prices have been reduced by Rs2.04 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs281.34 per litre. Diesel prices have seen an even steeper decline, dropping by Rs6.47 per litre to Rs296.71 per litre. Additionally, kerosene oil prices have fallen by Rs6.05 per litre to Rs204.98 per litre, while light-speed diesel (LSD) prices have decreased by Rs9.01 per litre to Rs180.45 per litre.
This latest price reduction follows a previous significant decrease in mid-October, when petrol prices were slashed by Rs40 per litre. The government's decision to lower fuel prices is expected to provide much-needed relief to consumers struggling with the rising cost of living.
