Pakistan marks defence day, PM Kakar urges nation to thwart ‘Evil Designs’

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar said that the entire nation of Pakistan stands united with its armed forces to defend the country from all threats. He made the remarks on the 58th Defence Day, which commemorates the sacrifices of Pakistani soldiers who fought in the 1965 war.

The day began with a 31-gun salute in the capital and 21-gun salutes in the provincial capitals. Change of guard ceremonies were also held at the mausoleums of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal.

In his message for Defence Day, Kakar said that September 6 is a day to remember the bravery and courage of Pakistani soldiers. He said that the country's defence is not limited to one day, but is a lifelong commitment.

Kakar urged the nation to renew its commitment to defend Pakistan and to pay tribute to the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the country.
