ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent statement suggesting the establishment of a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar called the remarks irresponsible, provocative, and thoughtless, deeply offensive to the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights. He emphasized that Netanyahu’s comments undermine the Palestinian right to self-determination and an independent state on their historical land.
Pakistan stands in full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, commending its steadfast support for Palestinians. Dar expressed regret over attempts to misrepresent Saudi Arabia's unwavering position on the Palestinian cause, noting that such efforts are deeply regrettable. He reiterated that Pakistan firmly believes in the Palestinian people's inalienable right to establish a sovereign state based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Any proposal to displace Palestinians from their ancestral homeland is unacceptable, Dar stated, stressing that it violates international law, United Nations resolutions, and principles of justice. Pakistan reaffirms its unflinching support for the Palestinian cause and will continue collaborating with Saudi Arabia and the international community to advocate for Palestinian rights and work toward a just, comprehensive, and lasting solution.
The Foreign Minister urged the international community to denounce Netanyahu's remarks and hold Israel accountable for its ongoing efforts to disrupt the peace process.
