ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, Pakistan and Turkiye signed 24 new Agreements, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), and Protocols aimed at enhancing cooperation and strengthening bilateral ties across various sectors. The signing ceremony took place at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad.
Among the key agreements, four MoUs were signed to bolster cooperation in the Defence Sector, while two MoUs and a Protocol focused on the Power, Energy, and Mining sectors. In the trade and industrial domain, three MoUs were exchanged to promote mutual cooperation. Both nations also formalized agreements in the Water and Seed Production sectors, with two MoUs in scientific education and training.
Additionally, two MoUs were signed in the Banking sector, one to promote bilateral cooperation in Religious Services and Education, and another focused on Halal Food. Other agreements covered diverse areas such as Media and Public Relations, Legal matters, Health and Pharmaceuticals, Aerospace Industry, and Cultural Cooperation.
The two countries also exchanged two MoUs between the Pakistan-Turkiye Business Forum to deepen cooperation in the business sector.
To conclude the signing ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed a Joint Declaration marking the conclusion of the 7th session of the Pakistan-Turkiye High-Level Strategic Council. The declaration aims to further institutionalize and diversify the strategic partnership between the two nations.
