ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has embarked on a significant upgrade to its passport system, investing in cutting-edge e-passport printers from Germany to improve efficiency, security, and processing speed.
The government has acquired two advanced e-passport printers along with six desktop printers, marking a crucial step toward modernizing the country's passport issuance process.
Mustafa Jamal Qazi, the Director General of Immigration and Passports, recently inspected the newly arrived machines at the e-printer section. He highlighted that these high-speed printers are capable of processing up to 1,000 passports per hour, a substantial boost to Pakistan's capacity to handle the increasing demand for passports.
To ensure the smooth integration of the new system, a team of foreign technical experts has arrived in Pakistan.
