Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani expressed Pakistan's profound concern over the intensifying hostilities in the Middle East, leading to the tragic loss of innocent lives.

In a recent tweet, he conveyed Pakistan's unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people, urging an immediate cessation of violence and oppression imposed by Israeli occupation forces.

Jalil Abbas Jilani emphasized the necessity of establishing a viable and sovereign State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders and United Nations resolutions. He stressed that international intervention is imperative to bring an end to the conflict, protect civilians, and facilitate the pursuit of lasting peace in the Middle East.

The conflict between Israeli forces and the Palestinian group Hamas continued to escalate, resulting in a substantial loss of life on both sides. This surge in violence was triggered by a surprise attack on Israel, prompting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to caution that they were entering a protracted and challenging war.

Described as the most devastating escalation in decades, Hamas launched a massive rocket assault along with ground, air, and sea offensives early Saturday. Israel's military reported over 200 Israeli casualties and 1,000 injuries in response to these attacks.
