The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued an update on Abrar Ahmed's condition following discomfort in his right leg during a four-day game against Prime Minister’s XI.
The 25-year-old leg-spinner complained after bowling eight overs, subsequently undergoing an MRI scan. Further details will be shared pending assessment by the medical panel.
In the ongoing match against Prime Minister’s XI, Abrar has bowled a total of 27 overs. This fixture serves as part of Pakistan's preparations ahead of their upcoming Test series against Australia, scheduled from December 14, 2023, to January 7, 2024.
In match proceedings, Prime Minister’s XI resumed at 149-2, with Matt Renshaw and Cameron Green at the crease. Faheem Ashraf, the right-arm seamer, broke the partnership by dismissing Green for 46 runs. Nathan McSweeney then joined Renshaw, building a substantial 120-run partnership.
Imam-ul-Haq, introduced into the attack, claimed his second first-class wicket, breaking the partnership with a catch taken by Mir Hamza. McSweeney departed after scoring 40 runs. Renshaw remained unbeaten at 136, guiding Prime Minister’s XI to a mere 24-run trail by the end of the day's play.
On Day four, Prime Minister’s XI will resume with Renshaw and Beau Webster at the crease.
