ISLAMABAD: Former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has been granted bail by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in a case related to an attack on a judicial complex. The decision was reported by a private news channel.

Elahi, who is also the President of PTI, had filed a bail plea in connection with the judicial complex attack case, which was heard by ATC Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain. The judge approved bail for Elahi, requiring a surety bond of Rs 20,000.

During the proceedings, Judge Zulqarnain noted that no significant evidence had been found during Elahi's remand period. Consequently, he ruled out further investigation into Elahi's involvement.

Prosecutor Raja Naveed argued that the FIR provisions were non-bailable. However, the court pointed out Elahi's absence from the FIR, raising questions about the basis of his arrest.

Naveed clarified that the arrest was made based on information from an informant, not the FIR itself.

After considering arguments from both sides, the court granted bail to Pervaiz Elahi, with the verdict to be delivered in open court for transparency and thorough examination of the case.
