IMF Mission Chief Nathan Porter and IMF Resident Representative for Pakistan Esther Perez Tuiz met with Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar in Islamabad.
During the meeting, PM Kakar reiterated the government's commitment to IMF-agreed reforms for economic stabilization.
The IMF officials briefed the caretaker prime minister on the negotiation status for the First Review of the Standby Agreement. Porter acknowledged Pakistan's efforts in meeting program targets, and positive outcomes were achieved in technical-level talks. PM Kakar expressed gratitude to the IMF team and commended the Finance Minister's leadership in advancing the program.
