Following the devastating impact of torrential rains and floods in Gwadar, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conducted a visit to the Balochistan deep-sea port city, where he announced a comprehensive relief package and ration drive for affected families.

Addressing the media in Gwadar, which has been severely affected by recent heavy downpours, Shehbaz Sharif pledged financial assistance to those affected by the calamity. He outlined that households whose dwellings were completely destroyed by the rain would receive Rs750,000 each, while those with partial damage would be provided Rs350,000. Additionally, families of individuals who lost their lives in the rain-related incidents would be granted Rs2 million, and Rs500,000 each would be allocated for the injured.

The Prime Minister assured swift distribution of the allocated funds, stating that the disbursement process would be completed within the next four days. He emphasized that the relief measures would extend beyond Balochistan to encompass regions adversely affected by the rainfall.

Regarding the economic losses incurred, Shehbaz Sharif disclosed that the provincial government would reimburse losses amounting to Rs400 million, specifically targeting the destruction of 83 boats.

This announcement comes in the wake of Shehbaz Sharif's recent assumption of office as the head of government, signaling swift action in response to the crisis at hand.
