In Lahore, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah asserted on Friday that his party would not form any alliances and is determined to chart an independent course.
During a press conference, Shah expressed grave concerns about the potential dire consequences for the country if elections were delayed, emphasizing a perceived orchestration to manipulate the people's mandate. He questioned the fairness of the political landscape when individuals from a particular party are in government.
Shah maintained that the prime minister's residence remains accessible to them, echoing that any form of selection would prove counterproductive. He emphasized the PPP's commitment to avoiding the politics of baseless allegations and fervently prayed for timely and democratic elections.
Regarding the potential incarceration of Mian Sb upon his return to Pakistan, Shah suggested that it could bolster his political stature, contrasting it with the negative impact of securing bail from the court on Nawaz Sharif's image.
Highlighting the PPP's roots in Punjab, Shah reiterated their accountability to the people and urged the citizens of Pakistan to respond to the unfolding events.
As the former opposition leader, Shah called upon the caretaker government to advocate for the people of Gaza.
