The Chairman of the PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, announced that his party will support the prime ministerial candidate of the PML-N, following a meeting of the Central Executive Committee (CEC).

Bilawal stated that the PPP will refrain from seeking any ministries at the federal level and has accepted the election results, despite concerns, in the best interest of the country.

"We do not advocate for another election; it would only harm the nation," Bilawal emphasized, addressing the media. He highlighted that joining forces with the PML-N was essential to prevent further instability in the country's governance.

Expressing a desire for all political parties to address electoral shortcomings, Bilawal pledged to use available forums like the ECP and parliament to resolve these issues.

Regarding his own candidacy for prime minister, Bilawal clarified that he would not put himself forward, acknowledging the greater number of seats held by the PML-N and independents in the Centre.

The decision to support the PML-N, according to Bilawal, was made after the PTI declined to form a coalition with the PPP, leaving the PML-N as the only viable option for collaboration.

Bilawal further expressed a personal preference for Asif Ali Zardari to become the next president, believing that Zardari's leadership is necessary to address the current challenges faced by the country.

In conclusion, Bilawal assured the public that the Parliament would convene to address their concerns and emphasized the PPP's commitment to engaging with other political parties on issues of national importance.

The PPP's decision follows extensive discussions and considerations during the CEC meeting, chaired by Bilawal and former president Asif Ali Zardari at Zardari House in Islamabad.

After the post-February 8 election results, where no party secured a simple majority, the PML-N and PPP have been actively exploring options to form a coalition government with their allies.

In particular, the PML-N is working diligently to establish a government at the federal, Punjab, and Balochistan levels.
