BEIJING: Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged for an “international peace conference” to address Israel's airstrikes on Gaza, according to AFP.
During a virtual summit of BRICS leaders, Xi emphasized the necessity of resolving the Palestine question for sustainable peace and security in the Middle East.
Xi stressed the urgency of convening a comprehensive and authoritative international peace conference to establish global consensus towards a just and enduring solution for Palestine.
Highlighting China's active efforts in fostering peace talks and advocating for a ceasefire since the recent Palestinian-Israeli conflict erupted, Xi also noted Beijing's humanitarian aid initiatives to alleviate the crisis in Gaza.
