Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, currently on a three-day visit to Pakistan, expressed his desire to address a public gathering during his trip.
While paying his respects at the mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal in Lahore, he mentioned that although he wished to hold a public rally, circumstances didn't permit it. Raisi emphasized feeling deeply connected to Pakistan, noting the special bond shared between the two nations and appreciating Islamabad's principled stance on Gaza.
Highlighting the significance of Allama Iqbal, Raisi underscored his inspirational role, stating that the renowned figure held great importance for Iran as well. Raisi's visit to Lahore, where he was received by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, coincided with the announcement of a public holiday in the city to manage traffic congestion amidst the Iranian president's presence.
