Notable Pakistani celebrities are using their social media platforms to express solidarity with Palestine. Some have been actively sharing updates from areas affected by Israeli attacks, while others, who had previously remained silent on the matter, are now adding their voices.
Renowned actor Yumna Zaidi posted a photo on her Instagram account holding a sign that reads "Free Palestine." She also shared a text-based Story affirming her support for Palestine, with the addition of "Gaza" accompanied by an emoji symbolizing a drop of blood.
Singer Asim Azhar used his Instagram Story to express his sentiments, saying, "If you bomb a hospital and still claim to be the victim, speechless," and included the hashtag "Free Palestine." Actor Adnan Malik shared a video report from a news portal about the bombing of a hospital in Gaza, along with the comment, "Attacking hospitals now..."
These celebrities are using their social media influence to raise awareness and advocate for the Palestinian cause.
Singer Hasan Raheem, known for his outspoken stance on the issue, has not held back in expressing his views. In one post on X, he criticized those who claim to be socially aware but remain silent on the issue of genocide, stating, "All the so-called woke individuals who are staying silent on the ongoing genocide, I'm glad you've revealed your true colors. Palestine is suffering, and your silence makes you complicit."
Hasan went on to express his opinion that Israel, which he views as a satellite state created by Western powers, is a source of instability in the Middle East. He questioned the justifications for its existence in another post.
In a separate message on Twitter, Hasan emphasized the importance of raising one's voice about the issue, pointing out that the voices that can't be controlled are the biggest challenge for those involved. He used the hashtag "Palestine Genocide" to further underscore his message.
