he Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has brought attention to the issue of enforced disappearances of its party leaders and workers by sending letters to the Caretaker Prime Minister and the Chief Election Commissioner, as reported by a private news agency.
In these letters, the PTI's secretary general, Omar Ayub, has raised concerns and requested the recovery of the missing party members.
The PTI has also shared copies of these letters with the four caretaker chief ministers. The letter mentioned that PTI members Farrukh Habib, Sadaqat Abbasi, Usman Dar, Awais Younus, Irfan Saleem, Abdul Karim Khan, and Awami Muslim League's Sheikh Rashid have all gone missing for several days. Ayub emphasized that these disappearances constitute a clear violation of citizens' fundamental rights as enshrined in the constitution.
Ayub further pointed out that the transparency of the upcoming general elections could be in question unless these individuals are released promptly. He expressed hope that immediate orders would be issued to address the issue of enforced disappearances.
