In Islamabad, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder is set to contest elections from three constituencies, as announced by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali and Barrister Ali Zafar during a press conference.
According to Gohar Ali Khan, the PTI founder aims to run for the National Assembly seats in Mianwali, Lahore, and Islamabad.
Expressing their stance, Barrister Ali Zafar emphasized the party's firm resolve for a general election on February 08, considering refraining from submitting nomination papers as contrary to the essence of the democratic process.
Barrister Gohar highlighted the party's commitment to participating in the elections, addressing potential attempts by opponents to disrupt the process. He affirmed his intent to contest the election from Buner.
Gohar Khan urged the election commission to ensure that PTI receives its due rights as a political entity, criticizing opponents' attempts to prevent PTI candidates from contesting.
The PTI chairman expressed concerns about opponents' nervousness leading them to deny the party's candidates the opportunity to compete in the election field. He emphasized a desire to avoid exacerbating the situation.
Addressing the party's internal affairs, Barrister Gohar mentioned the imminent decision on party tickets and advised candidates to face challenges and submit their nomination papers.
Ali Zafar conveyed hope for a timely decision by the election commission regarding the party's election symbol, highlighting the significance of transparent elections for upholding democracy.
Regarding other matters, he expressed anticipation for the Islamabad High Court's decision in the Toshakhana case and emphasized PTI's support for party members in jails over other candidates, directing workers to file their nomination papers accordingly.
