The Supreme Court of Pakistan has reserved its verdict on former Prime Minister Imran Khan's petition challenging amendments to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) law. Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial indicated that a "short and sweet order" would be issued shortly after counsels completed their arguments.

During the hearing, Chief Justice Bandial noted that amendments to Section 23 of the NAB law were made in May and June, and records of cases withdrawn as of May 2023 had been received, suggesting a shift in the direction of the law.

Imran Khan's counsel, Khawaja Haris, explained that after the amendments, NAB no longer had jurisdiction over the withdrawn cases and lacked the authority to forward them to other forums.

Justice Mansoor Ali Shah emphasized that there was no need for a law to refer cases to other forums, as existing legislation covered specific categories. The court reserved its verdict and announced that a detailed verdict date would be provided soon.
