The Pakistan Supreme Court summoned ex-ISI chief retired Gen Faiz Hameed and others in the hearing regarding the removal plea of Islamabad High Court's Judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui.

The five-member bench, led by CJP Qazi Faez Isa, queried the validity of Siddiqui's allegations and questioned if his dismissal was linked to those claims.

Notices were issued to several individuals, including former IHC Chief Justice Anwar Khan Kasi, former Supreme Court registrar Arbab Muhammad Arif, and retired Brig Irfan Ramay. The proceedings were broadcasted live online, with Hamid Khan representing Siddiqui.

Khan sought 'impleadment' of seven respondents, while the bar associations' counsel, Barrister Salahuddin, aimed for the same, excluding Kasi. CJP Isa probed if all allegations made by Siddiqui were accurate, suggesting potential manipulation within the judiciary to influence electoral politics.

The discussions involved claims of maneuvering within the judiciary and alleged pressures from the ISI on judicial decisions. The court adjourned the case after objections were raised and scheduled it for a later date after the winter break.
