Tonight Shab-e-Meraj is being observed across the country with deep religious devotion and reverence. This night commemorates the miraculous journey of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) to the highest levels of heavens.
According to Islamic tradition, the Holy Prophet was transported from Al-Haram mosque in Makkah to Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem on a celestial creature called Al-Buraq. This extraordinary event, narrated in the Holy Quran, holds profound significance in Islam.
Shab-e-Meraj falls on the 27th day of Rajab in the Islamic calendar. It was during this celestial journey that the command for the five daily prayers (Salat) was bestowed upon the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Additionally, the Holy Prophet encountered numerous other prophets and led a prayer at Al Aqsa mosque.
In mosques across the nation, special prayers will be conducted to seek Allah’s forgiveness and blessings. Religious scholars will also delve into a comprehensive discussion of the Meraj incident, emphasizing its spiritual and historical significance.
