Pakistan's Test captain, Shan Masood, has disclosed the batting lineup for the upcoming three-match Test series against Australia, affirming his placement at number three in the order.
Masood shared details with the media following the trophy unveiling for the forthcoming four-day match between Pakistan and the Australian Prime Minister XI, scheduled to commence the next day.
Confirming the opening duo as Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique, Masood asserted that Babar Azam would maintain his spot at number four. He emphasized the continuity of the same batting order used in the previous Test series, citing the established partnership of Haq and Shafique.
Addressing his position, Masood affirmed his persistence at number three since his return to the Test side, while designating Sarfaraz Ahmed as the primary wicketkeeper. He expressed flexibility in deploying both Sarfaraz and Mohammad Rizwan, potentially utilizing one as a batter based on prevailing conditions.
Masood showcased confidence in Pakistan's bowling lineup, highlighting Shaheen Afridi's leadership and the diverse threats posed by each bowler.
