Shehbaz Sharif, the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), asserted that the party played a crucial role in preventing Pakistan from experiencing an economic default. Sharif alleged intentional interference with the Results Transmission System (RTS) and the removal of polling agents during the 2018 elections as part of a rigged electoral process.
Highlighting the achievements during PML-N's governance, Shehbaz Sharif mentioned the elimination of electricity load shedding and significant growth in the agricultural sector, asserting that the country was on a positive developmental trajectory. He argued that Pakistan faced a crisis when the PML-N government was ousted from power.
Addressing concerns about the International Monetary Fund (IMF) agreement, Sharif blamed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for signing the deal, claiming it pushed the country to the brink of economic default for political gains.
On a different note, the PML-N launched its much-anticipated election manifesto on January 27, unveiled by party leader Nawaz Sharif. During a party event in Lahore, Nawaz Sharif expressed hope that the people would carefully review and consider the manifesto, emphasizing the party's commitment to implementing it if voted into power. The delayed manifesto release was attributed to the party's dedication to comprehensive reforms, involving the formation of 32 committees to draft it, with a focus on realistic and achievable commitments, as instructed by Nawaz Sharif.
