KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced the closure of all educational institutions on April 1 (tomorrow) in observance of Youm-e-Ali. As per the notification issued by the government, both public and private schools and colleges in Sindh will remain closed on Monday.
The notification stated, 'With the approval of the competent authority, as per the decision made in the meeting of the Sub-Committee of the Steering Committee held on November 13, 2023, the School Education and Literacy Department, Government of Sindh, hereby declares a holiday on account of Youm-e-Hazrat Ali (RA) on Monday, April 1, 2024.'
Youm-e-Ali is commemorated on the 21st of Ramadan each year, with large processions held across the country to honor the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA).
