KARACHI: The Sindh government has given the green light for allocating Rs. 30 million to support a katcha operation against bandits.

The decision to allocate these funds was made during a meeting presided over by Chief Secretary Muhammad Fakhre Alam Irfan. This financial allocation came in response to a request from the Sindh police.

The approved funds will be utilized to provide food and fuel for the police engaged in the katcha operation. Additionally, the plan includes the establishment of new police pickets in Ghotki, Kashmore, Jacobabad, and Sukkur to enhance the operation's effectiveness. The katcha area in question measures 176 kilometers in length and 25 kilometers in width.

Furthermore, caretaker chief ministers of Sindh and Punjab have collaboratively decided to launch a joint operation targeting bandits in katcha regions. During their meeting, they discussed the strategy for the operation, particularly focusing on areas in Sindh, such as Ghotki and Kashmore districts, and in Punjab, areas like Ranipur and Rahim Yar Khan.
