In Karachi, the Sindh School Education and Literacy Department approved the schedule for the new academic year 2024-25 on Thursday.
According to a notification issued by the provincial department, the academic year will commence on August 1, 2024, instead of the previously scheduled April 1, 2024.
The department announced that students from nursery to class 3 will be promoted to the next grades without the need for exams. Examinations for classes 4 to 8 will take place from April 15 to April 27, while board exams for classes 9 and 10 will be conducted in May.
Matriculation and intermediate exams are scheduled to be held in the last week of May 2024, with results expected to be announced on July 31 and in the second week of August, respectively.
The Sindh Education Department stated that exams will consist of 20% multiple-choice questions, 40% constructed questions, and 40% extended questions.
Summer vacations for the academic session 2024-25 will span from June 1, 2024, to July 31, 2024, while winter vacations will take place from December 21, 2024, to December 31, 2024.
