Sindh Sales Tax Special Procedure (Online Integration of Business) Rules, 2022: SRB reduces turnover limit for POS integration

Restaurant service providers in Sindh whose turnover during the immediately preceding twelve tax periods exceeds five million rupees are now required to integrate their point of sales (PoS) with the SRB computerized system on a real-time basis. This is a reduction from the previous limit of ten million rupees, which was set in the Online Integration Rules, 2022.

The SRB issued a notification on July 31, 2023 (Notification No. SRB/3-4/42/2023) reducing the turnover limit for PoS integration.

The SRB has taken this step to improve tax compliance and to reduce tax evasion. By integrating their PoS with the SRB system, restaurant service providers will be required to report their sales in real time. This will make it easier for the SRB to track sales and to identify tax evaders.
