Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Sirajul Haq launched a fresh critique against the interim government, holding them responsible for the surging inflation.
Speaking in Lahore, Haq expressed concerns about the hardships faced by the country's impoverished population, who continue to struggle for basic necessities like bread and pulses.
Regarding the upcoming elections, Haq emphasized the importance of conducting them in a manner that genuinely represents the masses, ensuring that people can exercise their right to vote meaningfully. He called upon the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to organize transparent elections and promptly announce the election date, addressing the prevailing uncertainty.
In a previous statement a few days ago, Haq attributed the unrest and escalating inflation in the country to past governments. He asserted that political parties with a history of ruling the nation were deceiving the public, specifically mentioning the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Haq encouraged the youth not to be swayed by the false promises of political opponents, emphasizing the need to hold those responsible for decades of mismanagement and wealth depletion accountable.
Furthermore, he highlighted the culture of corruption and misappropriation in Punjab and interior Sindh, along with the deteriorating situation in Balochistan.
