Students and parents of Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) candidates staged a demonstration outside the Peshawar Press Club to protest the decision to re-conduct the MDCAT 2023.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial cabinet had resolved to conduct the MDCAT again following allegations of widespread cheating during the initial exam held on September 10. This decision was communicated to the Peshawar High Court.
The protesting students and their supporters argued that it was unfair to the successful candidates who had passed the exam, while those who failed were being granted concessions. They labeled this move as a "victory for the mafia" and called for an investigation into the test results. Instead of canceling the test, they insisted that action should be taken against those responsible for the cheating scandal.
