Syed Asif Hyder Shah appointed as new Chief Secretary of Sindh

In a recent development, Syed Asif Hyder Shah, a seasoned BS-22 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, has been reassigned and appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Sindh. This change, effective immediately, was announced on Tuesday through an official notification.

Syed Asif Hyder Shah, who previously held the position of Secretary in the Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Division, will now take over the role of Chief Secretary, succeeding Dr. Fakhre Alam, the current incumbent. Dr. Alam has been instructed to report to the Establishment Division following this reshuffle.

With an extensive career in the civil service of Pakistan since 1993, Asif Hyder Shah has served in various significant roles including Commissioner in both Hyderabad and Karachi, Special Secretary in the Cabinet Division, Federal Secretary for Culture, and Secretary in the Power Division.

Aside from his administrative roles, Asif Hyder Shah is professionally trained as a civil engineer. He obtained his MBA from IBA Karachi and holds a master's degree from Howard University. Additionally, he has been awarded fellowships from Howard and Stanford Universities.

Notably, Asif Hyder Shah is the son-in-law of the late former Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Abdullah Shah, and maintains close familial ties with the current Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah.
