NOSHKI: Five people, including three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, were martyred in a deadly attack on an FC convoy in Noshki district, Balochistan, on Sunday. The banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the assault, which took place early in the morning on Dalbandin Road.
The terrorists carried out an explosion followed by a suicide attack, killing three FC personnel and two civilians. Security forces responded swiftly, launching an operation that resulted in the death of three terrorists, including the suicide bomber. The area was cordoned off by security forces, who blocked all escape routes and began a clearance operation to eliminate any remaining terrorists.
According to reports, the BLA has been behind a surge in terrorist activities in Pakistan, particularly in 2024, with an increase in high-intensity attacks in Balochistan. Noshki Station House Officer (SHO) Zafarullah Sumalani confirmed the deaths and reported that at least 12 others were injured in the attack, some of them critically. The wounded were rushed to the FC camp and Noshki Teaching Hospital, where emergency measures were put in place.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack, offering condolences to the families of the martyrs and wishing a swift recovery to the injured. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to continue the fight against terrorism. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also condemned the act, calling it an act of cruelty and reaffirming the government’s commitment to counter anti-state elements attempting to destabilize the country.
