Mayor Murtaza Wahab has unveiled a plan to introduce solar-powered streetlights along 106 roads in Karachi. Citing the escalating electricity costs, the mayor highlighted the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation's initiative to utilize solar panels for street lighting.
Acknowledging the previous challenges faced due to warm temperatures and dusty conditions in Karachi, Wahab mentioned ongoing assessments to ensure the effectiveness of solar-powered streetlights by preventing dust accumulation on the panels.
Within the next 10 days, Wahab announced the inauguration of streetlights along 32 roads in the SITE area. He also addressed issues regarding the appropriation of Shahrah-e-Noorjahan and assured the upcoming inauguration of a new road in Lyari. Additionally, he pledged swift completion of development projects in Malir.
Expressing the party's commitment, Wahab emphasized the PPP's administration in Karachi, promising comprehensive development across all districts in the city.
