KARACHI: Sindh transporters have declared a 10% reduction in fares in response to a significant decrease in petrol and diesel prices.

This decision follows a meeting between the Sindh transport department and a delegation from the transport association. During the meeting, the transport department announced a 10% cut in intercity fares and warned of severe legal consequences for violators. Additionally, they instructed regional and district transport officials to ensure the orders are carried out.

Similarly, the Islamabad Transport Authority (ITA) has introduced a 10% reduction in transport fares, covering both inter-city and intra-city routes. This move was initiated following a government-driven reduction in petroleum product prices. The reduced fares will apply to 23 different routes within the Islamabad district, as well as intra-city transport outside Islamabad.
