Turkey's Trade Minister, Omer Bolat, has announced that Turkey will continue to halt all trade with Israel until a permanent truce is established in Gaza and unrestricted humanitarian aid is allowed to flow into the region.
This decision comes amidst what Bolat described as the "worsening humanitarian tragedy" in the Palestinian territories.
Speaking in Istanbul while unveiling April trade statistics, Bolat attributed Turkey's decision to halt trade with Israel to the uncompromising stance of Israel and the deteriorating situation in Gaza. The two countries had a trade volume of $6.8 billion in 2023.
