Intense fighting persisted in Gaza on Sunday amid a heated dispute over the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees, putting its future in doubt.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged donor states to ensure the uninterrupted flow of crucial aid to Gaza. Funding to the agency, UNRWA, was halted by some donor nations following Israeli allegations that some staff members were involved in the October 7 attacks.

The Israeli army reported on Sunday that special forces were actively engaged in fierce battles in Gaza's main southern city of Khan Yunis. They claimed to have eliminated "terrorists" and discovered significant quantities of weapons. Strikes also targeted central and northern Gaza.
