Karachi: Zainab Abbas, one of the presenters for the World Cup 2023, has departed from India following a complaint filed by an Indian lawyer regarding her alleged 'anti-Hindu' remarks. An ICC spokesperson confirmed her departure, citing 'personal reasons' and dismissing deportation reports.

Earlier this month, Zainab Abbas expressed her excitement about joining the esteemed lineup of commentators and presenters for the mega event on social media, saying she was 'humbled' by the opportunity to travel to India.

Zainab, a Pakistani presenter, shared her curiosity about India, emphasizing the cultural similarities between the two nations despite their on-field rivalry. She highlighted the common language, love for art, and the shared camaraderie off the field.

Expressing her gratitude, she stated, 'I am humbled to present in India during the World Cup for the ICC again. A journey away from home of 6 weeks starts now.'

It's worth noting that despite numerous reminders from the Pakistan Cricket Board, India has not yet granted visas to Pakistani fans and journalists.
